The
main purpose of Engage is to serve as a
resource to assist the Glasgow Community Planning
Partners identify and understand local community and voluntary groups
operating across the city.Engage fits with the overall aims of the existing
Infobase community resource. Engage will provide all
Community Planning partners involved in community
engagement with useful information, including up to date
contact details on community and voluntary groups.
Engage provides key information about the size, scope and range
of activity delivered by community and voluntary
organisations in Glasgow. The key function will be to support the
engagement process by providing specific information
about supported activity at the local level.
Users
are encouraged to search Engage to identify
potentially relevant groups operating in their local
areas or across a specific sector. Engage contains
details of hundreds of different groups operating in the
city. The facility enables users to identify
specific groups relevant to particular activities.
We
would encourage users to read our conditions of use
statement when using the system. The statement sets out
good practice guidelines in using this type of
information.
Once you
have logged in, information
from Engage can be accessed on three levels:
the
keyword search function enables users to search for
results by inputting a keyword or series of keywords
into the system. The search returns lists of
groups and organisations meeting the search
criteria.
the alphabetical search tool enables users to access a range
of information on individual groups and searches
return lists of specific organisations. These
searches can be conducted on a number of filters,
including alphabetically, by geography and by area
of activity.
the main Engage reporting section provides the most detailed
and powerful search function on the system. It
allows users to search information using a series of
filters and provides full information for selected
groups to be exported to Excel or other packages for
further analysis.
